Notes

If you can’t find bread specifically labeled Texas toast, substitutes include Sara Lee Artesano Original, Nature’s Own Perfectly Crafted Thick Sliced White, or Brioche Style. Leftovers can be stored for three days at room temperature or frozen for up to three months. Reheat in a 350-degree oven for about 10 minutes. Use freshly shredded cheese for best results.
