  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

  • 4 large eggs
  • cup fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup milk

Preparation

  • In another bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  • Stir in the lemon juice and zest.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
  • Bake for about 40 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
