Pasta and Meat

  • 1 pound ziti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Cheeses

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Cooking Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  • Cook the ziti pasta according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat; drain excess fat.
  • Add minced garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper to the meat mixture; simmer for 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, combine cooked ziti, meat sauce, ricotta cheese, and half of the mozzarella cheese.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute the meat with sautéed vegetables or mushrooms. This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking. Feel free to add extra spices or herbs to customize the flavor.
