For the Mince
- 500 g Minced Meat Choose beef, mutton or chicken
For the Vegetables
- 2 medium Potatoes Diced
- 1 large Onion Finely chopped
- 2 medium Tomatoes Chopped
For the Spice Mix
- 2 medium Green Chilies Adjust heat level according to preference
- 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Chili Powder Adjust to taste
- 1 teaspoon Garam Masala Best added at the end
For Garnish
- ¼ cup Cilantro Freshly chopped
- 1 tablespoon Lemon Juice To taste
For Cooking
- 2 tablespoon Oil For sautéing
- 1 cup Water
Step-by-Step Instructions
Heat the oil in a large pan over medium heat until shimmering. Add the cumin seeds and wait for them to splutter.
Sauté the finely chopped onion for 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
Add the chopped tomatoes and cook for 5-7 minutes until softened.
Mix in turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt, cooking for 1-2 minutes.
Brown the minced meat, cooking for 7-8 minutes until it changes color.
Incorporate the diced potatoes, stirring well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
Pour in the water, cover the pan, and let it simmer for 20-25 minutes.
Once potatoes are tender, sprinkle garam masala over the dish and stir.
Garnish with freshly chopped cilantro and lemon juice. Serve with naan or basmati rice.
